I recently started a new job detailing cars at a classic car dealership. You never know what is going to roll in, and in what condition, some of them just need to dust knocked off and the tires shined, others, well, you work with what you have. Here is a list of what I’ve detailed so far:
1950 Ford Custom Coupe
1968 Plymouth Satellite
1965 Ford Thunderbird
1951 Ford F1
1966 Chevrolet C10
2000 Toyota MR-S
2008 Porsche Carrera 997
1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible
1978 MG MGB Roadster
I will say that I am more a fan of European cars, but the 65 T-Bird was absolutely stunning in its design. Sure it was a pain in the butt to polish all of the 80 or so pieces of chrome on it, but the result was amazing. You could sit in it for hours taking in the design details. And the Satellite was so cool with its long flat body. I’m not sure what exhaust was on the MGB but it was one of the angriest four cylinders I’ve ever heard.

While I know it’s an Olds and not a Caddy, it kept making me think of Macklemore’s song, “White Walls”, which it did have on it.

I’ve started the same job for a used car lot earlier this month as well, I’ve cleaned basket-case G6’s to Mercedes-Benz S Class Bluetec diesels.

65 T-Bird. You lucky guy. First car with sequential turn signals. America at its finest.

I am going to have to feel it out as far as posting pictures are concerned. The President of the company is really particular about the legal aspects of the company, including the pictures.

Yup. Especially taking ratty looking old cars and transforming them.
